About TNPSC GROUP IV Exam

TamilNadu Public Service Commission VAO exam is to recruit candidates for village administrative officer in state government of TamilNadu. Now VAO exam called As CCSE- IV because of group IV Exam merge with VAO Exam. There is no separate exam for IV.

Now a day there is a more competition for TamilNadu Public Service Commission Group4 examination. Since the qualification for TamilNadu Public Service Commission CCSE- IV is only SSLC. VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria

Note:

(i).Others [i. e Candidates not belonging to SCs SC(A)s, STS, MBCs/DVs, BCs and BVMs] who have put in 5 years of service in the state/ central government are not eligible even if they are within the age limit.

(ii) The Technical and Non-Technical Staff of TANSI who have faced retrenchment and have not been absorbed in the Government Corporations/ Undertakings may also apply, if they are otherwise qualified except age and the relevant age rule will be relaxed by the Government in their favour if they come up for selection.

Educational Qualification :

Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of notification. Must possess minimum general educational qualification viz. Must have passes S.S.L.C public examination or ist equivalent with eligibility for admission to higher secondary courses of studies or to college courses of studies.
Note : The applicants who have not passed S.S.L.C examination or its equivalent are not eligible even if they possess a higher qualification.

Knowledge of Tamil :

Candidates should possess knowledge of Tamil.

VAO Exam Selection Process

TNPSC VAO Exam Selection Process Details:

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s (TNPSC) Village Administration Officer (VAO) Selection Procedure details are given below….

Selection Procedure:

Village Administrative Officer (VAO) selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination and District option exercised by the candidates following rule of reservation of appointments.

Written Examination:

Written examination will consists of single paper in two types i.e General Studies (75 items), Basics of Village Administration (25 items), Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (20 items) and General Tamil (80 items). The other will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Basics of Village Administration (25 items), Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (20 items) and General English (80 items). Candidates are given the option to choose either General Tamil or General English for answering the g the 80 items apart from answering the 120 (75+25+20) items on General Studies, Basics of Village Administration and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test. The 80 questions on General Tamil/ General English will be set in the respective languages and the remaining 120 questions will be set both in English and Tamil. All the questions will be in objective type. Minimum qualifying marks for selection is 90.

Note :

The Rule of reservation of appointments applies to the post in District wise.

If no qualified and suitable women candidates are available for selection against the vacancies reserved for them, those vacancies will be filled by male candidates belonging to the respective communal categories.

Scheme of Written Examination :

The examination will be conducted for maximum 300 marks in the duration of 3 hours. Written examination consists of Two types of question papers. One type of question paper will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Basics of Village Administration (25 items), Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (20 items) and General Tamil (80 items). The other will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Basics of Village Administration (25 items), Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (20 items) and General English (80 items).
